Marc Ellerby:

I bloody LOVE this! I laughed my head off at the note! I was thinking of actually ending the comic with something to do with me and Kayla moving in together but it felt like I’d be stretching things out on purpose, so I’m glad Marc worked it into his. I love that man.

Kayla Hillier:

Kayla is perhaps the only person who could base her ending on something that actually happened to me, and so she did. Instead of a fantastical ending she records a moment of me driving her mad in an episode of Ikea-caused confusion. This is also the first time she has ever drawn me, but be prepared for a lot more of me in her travel diary comic Galavant.

Lizz Lunney:

Haha! I’d kill for a Little Adam Pez! Little Lizz Lunney knows that I’m a fan of Pez, Vimto and my own face so this may be the perfect gift for me.

Joe Decie:

Joe also knows I love the Vimto. I’d always loved the deadpan, down to earth observation of Joe’s comics and so I thought his rendering of the Chinese Vimto factory was hilarious in it’s dullness. Thanks Joe. If there’s any webcomic you should be reading now mine has ended, it’s Joe’s.

John Cei Douglas:

If John came to my party with a Moomin I’d be out of there like a shot. John drew a comic himself once you know. It was about Buffaloes or something. Anyway it was pretty good. Let’s all bug him to do more, eh?

I think, and correct me if I’m wrong here, that this is the first time I’ve mentioned Vimto* (my all time favourite drink) in The Everyday. I guess I couldn’t let the comic end without getting it in there. Vimto, I love you.

Well, we’re finally here, folks! Comic number 200. The End. Did it end like you thought it would? With a huge drawing of my face?

It might have taken me nearly 4 years to get here, and during the last 50 strips it seemed to take forever but I guess I did it and I’d like to thank each and every one of you who have read my comic. I’m well aware in the world of webcomics mine is little known with a modest readership but that has always been fine with me. I never started doing this to make a living off t-shirt sales or have famous guest artists, I did it because I wanted to get better at drawing comics, and looking back at the first few I like to think that I can safely say that I’ve learnt a lot. I’m trying to avoid sounding like I’ve won an award or something but I do want to thank everyone who has let me draw them in this comic, anyone who’s ever linked to me and every single person who has left a comment. You all made it a lot easier to keep making comics of my life for all this time.

See below for lots of alternate endings by readers and comic artist friends and a little later in the day there’ll be a longer blog post about the future of The Everyday in print and what comic I’ll be working on after this, i.e Blood Blokes.

I may have been slightly tipsy by this point. Oh, and Kayla has had a hair cut.

Glastonbury was once again amazing this year, absolutely scorching the whole time and it was great to be there with Kayla. I have a set of photos from the festival over on my Flickr.

In the last comic I was in Toronto, dining with Marc and Anna. Marc has since done his own comic based on his outbursts in The Keg. I think this has been the first time our comics about the same event were on our sites at the same time.

Then suddenly this week I’ve skipped nearly 2 months ahead to relaxing on the Sunday at Glastonbury waiting for Stevie Wonder to come on. I’ve made this little leap forward mostly because TCAF (the reason I was in Toronto) was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to, and such was too outstanding to cover in The Everyday. Though I’m sure Marc will probably have a strip or two about it, possibly about the panel we were both on. Anyway, since returning and heading off for Glasto either not that much happened or that Everyday part of my brain is getting weary. This is one of the reasons I feel it is a good time to end this comic, I’m just not finding my daily life as full of material for comics as I once did.

So, I have the last 3 comics planned out, I just need to draw them. And I really hope you’ll find them funny.

I’ve gone a little cartoonier than usual with these two mini strips. I’d like to think if Ellerbisms was a newspaper comic strip it might look something like this.

I also love Google Street View, it’s a godsend. This is Danforth Avenue in the Greek Town sector of Toronto, in case you were wondering.

This was my first subway ride in Toronto, having just got off the airport bus, hence the suitcase.

As you may be able to tell, I had my hair cut before heading to Toronto. I am sporting a sort of casual quiff at the moment that may take another strip or two to draw right.

Once The Everyday finishes I plan to tour the world in a freak show as The Slightly-Fatter-On-One-Side Boy!
