Chris Madden returns! Kind of. How did he know I was in bed? The answer is: He knows me too well.

As you can work out by the date on this comic, Chris Madden has moved out by now. My “long suffering housemate” has appeared in 16 Everydays including this one. He may pop up again if he comes to visit or when I abuse his hospitality during next summer’s Edinburgh Festival but for now it is goodbye. I’ll miss the guy with whom I watched every episode of The Shield and Battlestar Galactica but I shall miss the massive widescreen plasma TV with surround sound that we watched it on that little bit more. Goodbye sweet TV!

For fans of Chris Madden, his presence remains on the internet in the form of the movie podcast he does, with another Chris, called Casta la Vista. It’s up to it’s third episode so far and isn’t half bad. Do check it out.

And we’re back to good old black and white comics in which I am topless. It’s been too long.

This was from that week when the entire country took a week off work and played on the Xbox all day. Remember? How our fragile economy survived I will never know. I was not lucky enough to contract the flu of pigs (because I am invunerable) and instead worked from home to the sound from the front room of cars zooming about and then crashing into other cars.

I like to refer to this TV show as “Sarah Connicles”. Yes, I am the funniest. Also, I am quite proud of how smug I look in panel 6.

Yet again, apologies for not updating last week, I’ve had a lot to catch up with since returning from Glastonbury. Speaking of which, special Glasto comics will start on Thursday. Yes, THIS Thursday. 2 comics in one week, just like the old days.

He’s also laughing his head off in the latest comic (permanent link here)! I can’t be too mad at him though because The Ste-Regular is actually a very enjoyable read. It’s only been going since the start of the year but I already have a few favourite strips and really like Hitchen’s novel approach to the form. There’s some great visual experimentation going on and I really like the crafty texture he’s chosen. The basis is the same as many other autobio strips – a guy and his partner plus a pet (in this case a tiny dog) – but he seems aware of this and there’s a lot more in there than just cute remarks or incidents. So, if you have room in your RSS feeder for just one more autobio webcomic than I’d pick this one for the thrill of seeing how it’s going to develop. But know every time Chris appears I’ll be reading with a broken heart.

I was supposed to post this last Thursday but in all the rush of preparing for the UK Thing I messed up, but here it is now, the 150th strip!

I am never drawing the kitchen floor again.

What I like about this is that I’m messing around on Chris’ guitar while he’s reading my comics.

Speed Racer is one of my favourite films of this year, it’s up there with Wall-e and Iron Man. Ignore the bad press it got, open your mind to a fun, bright, family film, and if you have a soul you will love it.
