This strip about my housemate Chris being somewhat foolish echoes an earlier strip about my old housemate Chris being somewhat foolish.

I didn’t get a clothes horse for Christmas but I did get a ‘Duff beer’ cushioned lap tray which I was quite happy about.

Every time I say something slightly overt and then put it in a comic for the whole world to read, I foresee that by some horrible misunderstanding or future breakdown of society that it will end up as my epitaph. I have an especially worrying feeling about this one.

Introducing Joe List, a man famous for scribbling on newspaper supplements. He debuted his first and exceedingly accomplished comic book Freak Leap at BICS this year and the MCC table was proud to have him. His youthful enthusiasm for robots who can play the drums helped carry my weary bones through the frazzling experience of being hungover at a comic show on a Sunday morning. God bless you Joe List, God bloody bless you.

The suspense gripping the Nation is over! My new flatmate is finally revealed! And it’s none other than Chris Doherty!

I’ve mentioned Chris and his comics many times before both here and on my blog. His series Video Nasties is one of my favourite self published comics ever, and next year it will be released as a graphic novel from Blank Slate! He is currently putting me to shame with the amount of pages he has drawn since he moved in. Chris has appeared once before in The Everyday, waaaaay back in #14 from November 2006 but I’m sure he’ll be in quite a few more after this.

Here’s a thought provoking review of The Everyday Collection One by Nicolas Papaconstantinou who picked up the book way back at Bristol in May and recently found it while tidying his front room. I liked what he had to say and would be interested to see what he thinks about the forthcoming Collection Two. He also reviews my friend Chris Doherty’s comic Video Nasties, which as I’ve said before is brilliant.

Chris and I got free entry to Collectormania and tickets to the Hot Fuzz talk courtesy of Mike and Dan at Millenium Comics. Thanks guys! It was really enjoyable, we saw clips from the film, Simon and Nick were effortlessly funny, a little kid asked if Bablyon 5 really was “a bag of shite” and Frank Sidebottom asked them what coloured pens they write their comedy with. And I got a strip out of it. It was a good day.

Also, NEWS!
I will be extending the strip every week day period for another week making it 5 WEEKS! This is because I’ve been creating lots of strips recently and I’m eager to get The Everyday right up to the present. So, next week will have strips about Iggy Pop and the apocalypse and the week after that will start with a bumper size post and end with tales from last weekend’s Bristol Comic Expo. I’m too good to you.
