Marc Ellerby:

I bloody LOVE this! I laughed my head off at the note! I was thinking of actually ending the comic with something to do with me and Kayla moving in together but it felt like I’d be stretching things out on purpose, so I’m glad Marc worked it into his. I love that man.

Marc’s copied me and he’s ending his comic soon. If you don’t already, go and and read Ellerbisms while you still can.

Kayla Hillier:

Kayla is perhaps the only person who could base her ending on something that actually happened to me, and so she did. Instead of a fantastical ending she records a moment of me driving her mad in an episode of Ikea-caused confusion. This is also the first time she has ever drawn me, but be prepared for a lot more of me in her travel diary comic Galavant.

Lizz Lunney:

Haha! I’d kill for a Little Adam Pez! Little Lizz Lunney knows that I’m a fan of Pez, Vimto and my own face so this may be the perfect gift for me.

Joe Decie:

Joe also knows I love the Vimto. I’d always loved the deadpan, down to earth observation of Joe’s comics and so I thought his rendering of the Chinese Vimto factory was hilarious in it’s dullness. Thanks Joe. If there’s any webcomic you should be reading now mine has ended, it’s Joe’s.

John Cei Douglas:

If John came to my party with a Moomin I’d be out of there like a shot. John drew a comic himself once you know. It was about Buffaloes or something. Anyway it was pretty good. Let’s all bug him to do more, eh?

Bonus: Andrew ’2hands’ Tunney (again):

Andrew ’2hands’ Tunney:

Some may know him as 2hands for his ability to draw with both hands at once, others may know him as Tunney or just Andy. I just know him as the guy I’ve been gently bugging to draw his awesome comic ideas for years now so I’m extra glad he sent me this. Also sometimes I call him Tuntun. Oh, and that’s the rubble of Manchester city center by the way.

Tuntun’s been in The Everyday a few times too and he also does a pop culture podcast with a friend of his who is an American man

Chris Madden:

Chris Madden needs no introduction to long time readers. My “long suffering” ex-housemate kindly spent the time to create this comic for me. Though he’s no longer in the comic (or my life, sniff) because he’s up in Edinburgh “working” it’s really nice to have him included at the end of the comic as he was, for a while there, my co-star. Madden’s many appearances start here.

Pedro Martin:

Hotwell explodes!!! This entry from reader Pedro Martin amused me, there hasn’t been enough explosions in The Everyday and Pedro sets things right, just in the nick of time. He’s also just started drawing his own autobio comic, Unremarkable Routine, and I think he’s off to a great start.

Howard Hardiman:

This may be a little odd out of context, but this great pin up by Howard ‘Handsome’ Hardiman is in reference to The Everyday #162. I don’t know if it’s because of The Terminator reference but I’m flattered that I’ve been drawn so buff. I’m so not buff. Check out Howard’s melancholic comics about lonely badgers and city-livin’ dinosaurs.

Speed Racer is one of my favourite films of this year, it’s up there with Wall-e and Iron Man. Ignore the bad press it got, open your mind to a fun, bright, family film, and if you have a soul you will love it.

This might need a bit of explaining. At the Birmingham International Comics Show last weekend I met Marc Ellerby (the Brapping guy) who also draws an autobio comic which is called Ellerbisms. Because our lives bumped into each others that night I thought a cross over comic would be a funny thing to do, hence the VS. Please note, Marc had no (swollen) hand in this, I have simply mimicked the way he draws himself and the format of his diary comics. The pretty lady is Jessica and popping up to save the day is, of course, Andy.

(Also, I’ve missed updating on Monday by half an hour so apologies to anyone eagerly awaiting the next installment of my life. I have fudged the time stamp though so it looks like I did update on time, just to keep the little calender looking pretty.)

Apologies for the late posting, I was busy drawing muppets. A boy’s gotta earn a living somehow, right?

Andy and I were in Piccadilly Gardens about 11:30pm when this charming young woman (two of those words are lies) approached us. Being Fresher’s Week I was expecting flyers to a rave or a foam party or a school disco but nope. Brothel.

Last week, a Manchester legend left us. Jukeboxes played only Joy Division as the city raised a glass to Mr. Wilson and the sun shined on the city for the first time this Summer. He must have had a word with the big guy.
This week, comic hero Mike Wieringo passed away at just 44. What the hell’s going on?

In other more cheery news, I will be going on holiday next week for the first time in six long years. This means The Everyday will be on a break too until the 27th when I will hopefully post some strips set in the sunny South of France. I’ll be taking a break from the internet too while I relax and finish up some other comic work so I may not reply to any e-mails.

We had missed the Reviews on the Saturday because none of the schedules had turned up so no-one knew what was going on when and where. It seems the Fates didn’t want us to meet any editors that weekend. But rest assured we’ll be back there next year with work seventeen times better. We’ll get you next time, Mrs. Bond! Bwahahahaha.
