The End: Part 1
It’s been a joy to open up my inbox and see the first batch of entries for ‘The End’ coming in. All of them made me laugh and there’s been plenty of riffing on some well chosen (in)famous film endings. Enjoy! Hopefully there’ll be many more to come (I’m looking at you, Ellerby!).
I think April’s captured both Marc’s and my own style really well here. Plus chosen a brilliant film relationship to mirror our bromance.
Clark is the most public face of the superb Thought Bubble Sequential Art Festival held in Leeds. He is the ever-chatty voice of their Twitter account and writes on their blog often, profiling and interviewing the country’s comic artists.
For those who didn’t get the film reference at first (like me, thanks Kayla), Mark has paid tribute to a seminal 80’s teen flick and a John Hughes classic. Mark’s a talented chap also from Manchester and his comics are always a thrill to read.
And finally, this lengthy strip from local character Oliver Hanbidge. I love that he’s used aspects from The Everyday but also Faust, a match made in MS Paint heaven!
Please send more entries in, I’m loving them. The deadline is currently August 12th. Send your comics to adam(at)adamcadwell.com, in black and white or colour as a 600 pixels wide jpeg at 72 pixels/inch.
